Kuhmo & Nurmes
When you travel east, you might want to visit Kuhmo - a great place to stop for coffee is Kaesan kotileipomo, a home bakery, where you can get, among other things, authentic Kainuu Rönttöset, the only one in the world. Yum! It's worth buying some bread and teos baked on site. Teos means a savory pie made from rye or rye flour, with a potato filling, for example.

Nearby is the traditional Rusasen Kulma, which is a versatile shop in the center of Kuhmo. Rusasen Kulma is a shop with a long history specializing in lifestyle, children's clothing, toys, gift items, beauty care, crafts, hobbies and interior design. You can find everything!
South of Kuhmo, in Nurmes, we recommend visiting the Old Market Square and Puu-Nurmes. The Old Market Square houses a lovely gift and interior design shop, Kolme Sisarta, where you will find a colorful selection of gifts and things to brighten up your everyday life. Kolme Sisarta is known for its diverse and carefully selected selection of gift, interior design and home products. In the store you can find, for example: beautiful interior design items - decorations, fabrics and home details, gift items for various occasions, textiles and small everyday delights, clothes and accessories, lots of Finnish products!

Visit the Puu-Nurmes area on foot, an idyllic residential area in the heart of Nurmes. Birches, steep streets and well-maintained wooden houses. Puu-Nurmes is a historically valuable and protected site. It is one of the best-preserved wooden house areas in Finland.
