Self-guided tour notrth and east of Helsinki

From Helsinki for a nice day trip – countryside and animals, interior design, clothes and atmosphere!

Helsinki Tapanila > Hyrylä > Tuusula > Sipoo

Total distance  121 km

First, we'll head to Tapanila, a neighborhood in northeastern Helsinki, where Petite et Cherie is a charming art gallery and boutique. This atmospheric brick-and-mortar store in an old wooden building next to Tapanila station focuses on responsibly produced delights. Here, you'll find interior design, fashion, cosmetics, and delicacies in addition to art.

The journey continues to Hyrylä in Tuusula, where you can make wonderful finds at the Onnion Store, a second-hand shop. This atmospheric lifestyle store sells recycled and refurbished furniture, second-hand clothing for women and men, and carefully selected other small items.

Our next stop takes us along the iconic Tuusula Lake Road. While you're there, you can visit the historic artists' homes nearby, including Pekka Halonen’s Halosenniemi and Aino and Jean Sibelius’s Ainola. Nestled along the scenic route is also the wonderful Memories Marin Putiikki, set inside a charming old barn. It’s packed with delightful finds for your home or for gifting—candles, napkins, dishes, cushion covers, soaps, laundry vinegar, and so much more. Visiting this cozy boutique is an absolute experience!

This next destination is also in Tuusula, but a little different, namely Pieni Kotieläintila ja Kahvila Onni is a small and idyllic farm, a nice summer excursion destination for the whole family. There is a shop connected to Kahvila Onni, which offers, among other things, lovely hand-knitted socks, gift items, candles, soft toys and second-hand goods.

From Tuusula we continue to Sipoo, where a nice destination is Kananlento, located in the countryside. There you can get to know the farm's animals and shop in a fun boutique selling animal-themed products. The atmospheric boutique, which only sells animal-themed products, donates at least 10% of its profits to work for the benefit of animals. In the boutique you will find Finland's largest selection of stuffed animals that look like real animals and everything from mugs to tea towels.

You can also continue the tour towards Häme.
