Self-guided tour from Tampere

It is advisable to book two nights for this shopping tour, so you can have a relaxing trip.

Tampere > Kankaanpää > Karstula > Jyväskylä > Säynätsalo > Jämsä > Alvettula > Laitikkala > Pälkäne > Tampere

From Tampere, first visit the winery in Kankaanpää. The idyllic Viinitila Meggala Winery is located in the beautiful countryside of Venesjärvi, Kankaanpää. At the farm, you can get to know Finnish wines and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere in the café, bar and terrace. You can buy wines from the shop as souvenirs or for your own enjoyment. In addition, the farm has a local food and craft shop, where you can find local delicacies and skilled crafts.

From Kankaanpää, the journey continues towards Karstula, where the organic food store and café Lähikontti offer a chance to take a break, perhaps with a healthy smoothie. Here you will find plenty of organic food, ecological detergents and Finnish sustainable clothing to take home.

From Karstula, drive towards Jyväskylä, where you will arrive after about a 1.5-hour drive. Now is the perfect time for Afternoon Tea. Teeleidi's tea house in Lutakko, the over-100-year-old residence of the Schauman factory manager, is a carefully maintained beauty that now smells of tea.

We also recommend visiting the legendary Harjun Paperi in Jyväskylä, where you can buy postcards to send to friends at Puotirundi or get yourself a new calendar or poster for your wall. This friendly card shop is located right next to the Harju recreation and outdoor area, and if you feel like walking a bit before your car trip, the Harju area is a beautiful, large, continuous green area. You can get some exercise by climbing the Nero stairs to the top of Harju, which start a block away from Harjun Paperi, and if you are interested in the scenery, also stop by the Water Tower on the top of Harju.

Jyväskylä also has a colorful art and interior design store, a gallery, and a professional frame shop, Kehystämö Galleria Patina, where you can find art and unique interior design products for yourself and as gifts. Similarly, Ellin kirja & putiikki is a lovely, personal boutique on the pedestrian street of Jyväskylä! Gifts and souvenirs for both adults and children – all kinds of wonderful books, not forgetting small interior design products!

From Jyväskylä drive to Säynätsalo, where the Aabakery café, located in the lap of the Alvar Aalto-designed municipal hall, offers a cup of good coffee and freshly baked cinnamon roll or Alvar Aalto's signature cake. The story goes that it was here that Alvar Aalto once stoned the bank's orange neon sign. May Alvar rest in peace, there are no neon signs at Aabakery.

From Säynätsälo continue to Jämsä. There, in the Koi Design workshop shop, you will find a wide selection of unique, handcrafted Koi Design silver jewellery and VÄRIÄ by Koi Design wooden bead jewellery in most delicious colors

From Jämsä  drive to Padasjoki, where we find the charming  farm Keinuhongan Tila. Here you will be served in a local food and butcher shop and a café.

Suvimarja Lifestyle is also located on the Keinuhongan Tila. The Suvimarja Lifestyle shop has several high-quality brands for everyday use and gifts. Here you will find interior design, clothing and accessories, as well as carefully selected delicacies. Suvimarja has a café and a summer restaurant,

From Jämsä drive to Alvettula, the second day of our trip is a relaxing one, with accommodation in an old cottage in Alvettula. The Bobacka pihatorppa accommodation offers two different accommodation options, and you can also stay here with your pet. Small is beautiful: a genuine village idyll, unique nearby attractions, a beach and an excellent village restaurant nearby.

Continue the journey to the lovely rural destination of Laitikkala. There, Suttisen Tila is a versatile place to visit, with a unique shop building on two floors and a café in the courtyard, and always something fun for children. You can also buy products from your own farm.

A short drive from Laitikkala to Pälkäne and there you will find the lovely Spirraali. At Spirraali you will find handmade gift items made of wire, beautiful cards, intricate wreaths and personal interior design texts to beautify your home! During the summer, Spirraali's small KuistiKahvila is open in connection with Puttiikki. It offers an artistic atmosphere, artisan pastries baked by me and coffees from rose cups!

A must-visit in Pälkäne during the summer is the Niitty-Seppälän Kesätori, Summer Market. The Summer Market is the Niitty-Seppälä farm's own farm store. In addition to our own berries and vegetables, we also sell other local products. The Summer Market also has its own café, terrace, petting zoo, children's playground and pedal car track. During the summer, you will also find the Kranssit.fi company on these premises.

Naturally, this tour can also be done counterclockwise. Please note that some of the operators are only open in the summer, so always check the opening hours on each operator's own website.
