Self-guided tour west of Helsinki

One night shopping trip west of Helsinki, visiting a farm shop, interior design shop, pottery workshop in a former stone barn, craftsman's shop, etc.

Helsinki > Kirkkonummi > Inkoo > Salo > Kaarina > Parainen > Tarvasjoki > Riihikoski > Lohja > Jokikunta/Vihti > Selki/Vihti > Helsinki

First a drive to Kirkkonummi Farm Shop. The farm's own products include flour, groats and potatoes, as well as fragrant breads and pastries from the farm's own bakery. The bread is baked by hand from its own grain in the farm bakery, with love and respect for both the ingredients and history. There is also a café and a fairy tale trail here.

From Kirkkonummi, the journey continues to Inkoo, which features two fascinating destinations. Art Story Inkoo operates in the town center within a former stone barn of a rectory built in the 19th century. The ceramics sold in the shop are made on-site, in the very same premises. In addition to works by artist Maarit Lassila, Art Story also sells creations by other Finnish artists and artisans. Kiurunpesä is an idyllic seasonal boutique in joyful Inkoo, open from spring until Christmas. Kiurunpesä offers something new, old, and charmingly vintage—all kinds of lovely things for both big and small, children and the young at heart!

The journey continues to Salo, where the Pieni Sisustuspuoti sells wonderful things for yourself, your home and as gifts. Products mainly from domestic companies/importers, but also products from Finnish small entrepreneurs.

From Salo, the journey continues to Kaarina, where Tuorlan Majatalo welcomes you to a granny-like atmosphere. Tuorlan Majatalo is located in beautiful surroundings, along the historic Kuninkaantie Road. The Majatalo offers delicious food, and there is also a café and a local food and gift shop with an old-fashioned atmosphere.

If you continue to Turku, you will find more destinations on the Turku and Naantali self-guided tour.

Alternatively, from Kaarina you can continue to Parainen, where Mon Ami seamlessly combines beauty, fashion and natural products. Under one roof you will find a wide selection of women's clothing, high-quality leather bags, jewelry and ecological products for both hair and skin.

From Parainen the tour heads to Tarvasjoki, where Antiikki Ajaton sells, among others, Artek furniture, Vintage Paint paints, Oiva Toikka's glass birds, Arabia, Finnish glass, interior design products. In Riihikoski, at Riihipuoti, you can replenish your grain stock in the mill's own store, where you will find the mill's own organic grain products without additives.

In Lohja, Päivölän Navetta is a lovely café in an old barn in a rural idyll. In addition to good coffee and tea, the café offers delicious homemade gluten-free pastries,

In Vihti's Jokikunta, you can visit the small Linnankoski goat farm on Sundays throughout the year. The goat farm café serves ice cream, cheese and yoghurt made from the farm's own goat milk.

Dogs & Deli Diner in Vihti Selki village has a café and grill decorated in a personal style, where you can find a selection of burgers, hot dogs and other salty snacks. For those with a sweet tooth, the display case offers a variety of homemade cakes and in the summer soft drinks and milkshakes are available. The diner sells local products, including coffee from a nearby roastery, handmade candles, etc.

Always check the opening hours on each operator's own website.
