Self-guided tour from Seinäjoki

From Seinäjoki to a two-day shopping trip!

Seinäjoki > Lapua countryside > Ylistaro > Vaasa > Pietarsaari > Kauhava > Karstula > Seinäjoki 582 km

From Seinäjoki we head to the Lapua countryside, where we get to explore Mummadesign. Mummadesign's Niina's own collection can be found in clothes, accessories and interior design products - the patterns have a Southern Ostrobothnian character. Handicraft from start to finish! In the summer, there is also a small café and accommodation for one group in their own apartment.

From here we continue to Ylistaro, where the charming summer café Kriikun Myllykaffila serves delicacies on the edge of the Kirkonkoski rapids in a 19th-century mill setting.

From Ylistaro, the journey takes you to Vaasa, where you can find the Scandinavian, rich, modern, stylish, colorful and slightly romantic interior design boutique Sisustus Säde, which is located in a charming old yellow wooden house.

From Vaasa we continue along the west coast to Pietarsaari. Café Skorpan in a small red 18th-century house charms with its home-baked bread, homemade ice cream (summer) and, among other things, its atmosphere. This block bakery offers a nice coffee break.

Next we drive towards Kauhava, first to the legendary Iisakki Järvenpää knife factory. This place already has a tradition – Iisakki Järvenpää was a self-taught knife maker and made, among other things, a gift knife for the future Emperor Nikolai II in 1888. Today, high-quality, handmade knives are still at the heart of the company and you can shop from a wide selection at the factory store.

A short distance away is another gem of the town, a pastel-hued, cheerful heaven for the craftspeople Tuulia Design. Tuulia has supply packages and a wide variety of supplies for crafting and craft enthusiasts. Enjoy the beautiful shop and bring your next craft!

Kauhava also has a seasonal kiosk, Mindy’s kiosk, run by 10-year-old Mindy! The kiosk sells candies, coffee, ice cream, refreshments and seasonal products at affordable prices.

The journey continues to Karstula, where the center of the village is Lähikontti, which sells and serves local food. The shop also sells high-quality cosmetics and clothing. It is definitely worth taking a break in this living room-like café in Karstula and enjoying a tasty lunch.

When you return to Seinäjoki or even by the time of leaving the area, it is of course worth using local services: Vihertaimisto and Suomen Taidetarvike.

Have a nice shopping trip!

Remember to always check the opening hours on each operator's own website.
